The Singapore Sarcoma Support Group is established by the multi-disciplinary Sarcoma team at the National University Cancer Institute Singapore (NCIS ) in collaboration with the National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCC), KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH) and the Singapore Sarcoma Consortium. It aims to reach out to Sarcoma patients, survivors and their caregivers.

Officially launched on May 7th 2016 at the first Sarcoma Public Forum organized by NCIS, NCC and KKH under the collaborative umbrella of Singapore Sarcoma Consortium, the Support Group held its first meeting with 25 cancer survivors and caregivers. During the Sarcoma Public Forum, 4 cancer survivors / patients / caregivers shared their experience with the public audience and received excellent feedback.

The Singapore Sarcoma Support Group official logo was designed by a sarcoma cancer patient with the dove in the middle providing a message of hope. Our official color is  yellow.

OUR MISSION

Sarcoma is one of the lesser known cancers in Singapore and it affects patients across the trajectory of age from the very young to the old. Having a resource for emotional and psychological support, sharing of knowledge and experience is invaluable to patients and caregivers.

The support group aims to provide a safe platform and comforting environment that allows for interaction, sharing of experiences for patients and caregivers who may be having difficulty coping with diagnosis, treatment and its side effects.

We hope to build a network that unites, inspires and provides support through the challenges that the patient and caregivers face.
